Judge Dismisses Lawsuits Against the IRS
You may remember reading our article about Lois Lerner breaking her silence regarding her role in improper targeting of conservative nonprofit groups. This past week, a federal judge made a ruling in regards to lawsuits brought against the IRS for their involvement in delaying the approval of applications filled out by these groups.
Judge Reggie Walton of the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia made his ruling in two lawsuit cases brought against the IRS by more than 40 conservative groups. The lawsuits were made because of the IRS’s handling of their applications for 501(c)(4) status. Some applications were delayed for three years. Walton ruled to dismiss these lawsuits now that the IRS has granted the groups their status as tax-exempt organizations. For more information, check out the articles below:
