To complete charitable solicitations registration in California, nonprofits must submit the Initial Registration Form, CT-1, to the office of the Attorney General, Registry of Charitable Trusts. With the submission of this form, California also requires the following supporting documents:

  • List of officers and directors (names and addresses)

The form must be submitted within 30 days of receiving donations (cash, property, or any other assets with financial value) as a result of solicitation in California. A $50 filing fee is required at the time of registration, which can be submitted via check payable to the California Department of Justice.
