The Boot Camp for Nonprofits

The Empowering, One-Day Conference That Will Take Years Off Your Learning Curve!
Who Is It For?

Our Boot Camp is custom-tailored for leaders of new, fairly new or even long-established 501(c)(3) organizations who are looking to bolster their knowledge and nonprofit management skill set.  Board members, executive directors, program leaders, key employees...there is something here for each of you.

What Will You Learn?

Just what it means to run a 501(c)(3) organization.
There is a lot more to this than you might think!  You will walk away with a much clearer picture of what you are getting into and what it takes to do it right.

The principles of effective governance.
Without an effective rudder, your ship will stay in port...or maybe even drift at sea and sink.  Your Boot Camp experience will arm you with the the strategic governance practices that can make or break your nonprofit.

How to manage people and programs.
Nonprofits would be so much easier to operate without people and programs, wouldn't they?  But then, you wouldn't have much of an organization!  Learn the principles and best practices that the most effective nonprofits use to ensure success.

The ins-and-outs of compliance that you simply must know.
Failing to understand these compliance requirements can be very painful...and just might jeopardize your organization's very existence.  Compliance doesn't have to be a nightmare.  You just need to know what's required, then do it.

How to avoid the pitfalls so common to other nonprofits.
Falling down is easy...but so is walking!  It's the getting up part that can be difficult.  We'll teach you how to stay upright and steer clear of the traps that can compromise, or even halt, your effectiveness.  And, if you are already in a hole, we'll show you how to stop digging!

Staying out of the IRS crosshairs.
Nobody wants an IRS confrontation.  Could it be that your nonprofit is inviting one without even knowing it?  The tips you'll learn will get the target off of your back.

The principles for THRIVING in a tough economy.
It rough out there.  The majority of nonprofits saw revenue decline in 2009.  Don't be a statistic.  Be an exception.  It is possible to THRIVE, not just survive...if you know these principles.

The keys to maximizing your funding efforts.
Most organizations are clueless about effective fundraising.  Learn to think differently about funding and watch your organization reach levels it never has before.  The tips and ideas you learn in our Boot Camp might be what makes 2010 a turning point for you.

Why your organization's public image can make or break you.
If your first impression is bad, you may never get a second chance.  We'll help you understand the things that collectively make up your public image...and what your public image might be saying about you.  Better yet, you'll learn how to polish it up!
