Karen has a BA-PR and MBA from Baylor University, where she was Student Foundation Vice President, Tri Delta VP-Membership and Secretary. Institutions advanced include Baylor University-Waco, Baylor Medical Center @ Irving, Delta Delta Delta Foundation, North Hills Preparatory School and Texas Woman’s University.
A Certified Fund Raising Executive since 1998, she devoted 6 years as CEO for the Irving Schools Foundation and Tri Delta Fraternity’s national Foundation in Arlington, TX. In 2011, Martin completed the $55.5 million T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences-Dallas campaign by securing two $1 million endowed faculty chairs. K. Martin & Associates was launched in 2005.
Its principal served on the Greater Dallas chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals board from 2004-2011. As current Texas PTA secretary, she directed its comprehensive Governance restructure and is newly-appointed to National PTA’s resource development committee. Karen is grateful to be a 10- year breast cancer survivor. Irving Symphony League President is an arts investment.
A Myers-Briggs “teacher-leader”, K. Martin & Associates designs infrastructure to advance charitable missions. Board service began with American Heart Association Board in Wynne, Arkansas as a high school senior. She and husband Karl are the parents of college students Kameron and Kamille.
