Floyd Rumohr

Floyd RumohrMr. Rumohr is a nonprofit leader and manager, teacher, author, and consultant through the Support Center for Nonprofit Management (New York), virtually with The Foundation Group (Nashville), and in private practice.

In 1994, he founded Stages of Learning, a nonprofit arts education organization aiming to restore drama instruction to public school students described as “one of the most effective” programs serving New York City by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Mr. Rumohr was a 2005 New York Post Liberty Medal in Education finalist, has been an adjunct professor of education for the Long Island University Graduate School of Education, and is currently writing a book series based on Stages of Learning practices.

Focusing on children, education, the arts, and youth services, he has worked with teachers, presented at conferences, and served on panels for the Arts-in-Education Roundtable Face-to-Face Conference, Partnership for After School Education, the Coalition of Essential Schools, New York State Council for the Arts’ Empire State Partnerships, New York University, the Actors’ Fund, the NYC Department of Education’s Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts Theater Grades PreK-12 Curriculum Committee, and served as a delegate to the Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs First Annual International Forum under the patronage of her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, Consort of his Highness the Emir of Qatar.

From 1990-1995, he was Associate Education Director for Theatre For A New Audience, which focuses on bringing world-class Shakespeare programs to urban youth and was the first among his peers to receive an MFA from Temple University under fellowship in 1988.
